Our Ministries

and Partners

Currently, our church is in transition between pastoral leadership and a lot is being impacted by Covid 19 but check back for updates on our ministry work and those we partner with!

Gene Cooks Supports, LLC

STRUCC provides a donated space for GCS’s Advanced Arts for the Community and Yogability activities.

The Advanced Arts class involves arts, crafts, and activities that benefit and give back to the community.  GCS individuals are able to create and express themselves in different ways while making donatable craft projects so that they can be able to experience the feeling of giving back. Benefits include self-expression, stress reduction, socialization, gross and fine motor coordination, and charitability.

Yogabilities is a form of Yoga geared for individuals with disabilities.  Yogabilities meets the individual at their current level of functioning and moves forward towards achievable goals utilizing a team approach.  Benefits include increased balance, strength, flexibility, range of motion, improved digestion & elimination, and stress reduction.

Gene Cook Supports, LLC is a locally owned and operated provider of waiver-funded home and community based services in Allegheny, Fayette, Washington and Westmoreland Counties.  Their  services are offered face to face in the home and community to support individuals with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities.

Bible Study

Stay tuned! With Covid 19, we are limiting close in-person gatherings such as bible studies but we will be posting online bible studies soon.

When the late Reverend Jeff Welsh was pastor, STRUCC supported Camp Living Waters, an outdoor ministry that provides youth (kindergarten through high school), families, and other organizations a place for spiritual and communal growth. Our church remains committed to the programs offered at Camp Living Waters. There are always scholarship available to attend. Please visit their website for more info.

Looking to the future, with Pastor TJ's background in education and having started a non-profit for children in Apollo, we are currently discerning what we may offer to the youth here in Scottdale. Pastor TJ is interested in building a ministry around creativity, self expression, art, and music. We are limited at this time with COVID 19, but if you would like to be part of what is to come, reach out to the pastor!

Scottdale Church Dartball League

What better way to fellowship with other Christians and community members in churches across our area than with a little healthy competition?  To learn more about the league, click here.

AA and NA meetings

Our church is committed to the wholeness of people in mind, body, and spirit. Therefore, we offer space to these organizations to meet. While we are not part of the services that they offer, we are grateful for the work that they do in our community.

Mission Opportunities

We do not currently have any mission work to report. Please check back for updates!

We do have an incredible partnership through our conference office with the United Church of Christ in the Philippines that you can learn more about here.
